National Assembly Passes Package of Draft Laws on Constitutional Court and Ensuring, Serving the Activity of the Officials and Their Social Guarantees

On December 11, the RA National Assembly in the second reading and completely debated and 82 votes passed the package of draft laws on Making Addendum to the Law on Constitutional Court and Ensuring, Serving the Activity of the Officials and Their Social Guarantees.

The RA Minister of Justice Rustam Badasyan informed that the legislative package had not undergone changes.

The member of the RA NA Bright Armenia Faction Taron Simonyan delivered his speech and informed that the Faction would vote for it.

Naira Zohrabyan expressed the negative position of the RA NA Prosperous Armenia Faction and noted that the Faction would vote against it.

The Head of the RA NA My Step Faction Lilit Makunts expressed her disagreement in relation to some expressions voiced by Naira Zohrabyan and stated that the Faction would vote for it.

The co-speakers and the key speakers gave concluding speeches.

Suren Grigoryan has noted that Paragraph 4 of Article 88 of the RA Law on Constitutional Court defines a relevant provision which allows the judges for their pre-term pension.

Rustam Badasyan informed such mechanism had been applied during the transition period in other countries: the RA legislation allows taking such step.

Covering the agenda the parliament ended the work of the regular sittings.
